There has been a huge amount of progress over the early weeks of 2017. We are still on track to put the 2 Scottish turbines up early in March, with all the relevant grid connections and testing booked with a little time to spare to meet our Feed-in Tariff deadline.
We’ll post some updates from the Troed y Bryn site shortly. Meanwhile here are some photos from the Kellybank site in Scotland. They give some idea of the depth of soil encountered, which has been a significant challenge. Not only do the turbines need to be securely anchored, but the access road has to be able to bear the weight of substantial cranes and be suitable for use in all weathers for maintenance in the future:
